The drifting down of autumn’s leaves
Petals of time of spiraling grieves
Which was green and full in the sun
Now dry and brittle, its course has run
Only left to drift on the wind
But then again, its journey will begin

For as it lays on ground below
Covered with rain and then the snow
It slowly returns to where it came
And becomes one of the whole, once again
From mulch to dirt to nurturing a seed
Feeding the shoot, tending a need

The winter is over and soft winds blow
The ground does stir of  the sleeping below
A tender spike comes from the ground
Stretching in the air as it moves around
A tiny green comes from a limb
With the greenness of leaf, kissing suns rim

And in the years, the tree grows tall
And every autumn the leaves do fall
What seems simple is really complex
For all life follows a pattern into the next
As the leaves of autumn begin falling so free
Are they leaves or angel wings, that we see?

They're all that and more...  they're memories of precious times gone by;  they're inspirations of fireplaces, scarves, and walks;  they're stimulations of aesthetic appreciations;  they're reminders of the best times yet to be had...  Autumn is my favorite season, and your poem has rustled up some impressions.  Nice work, Logan.

I have to agree with Mark........everything is more than what it seems to be, and only will we know by taking a much closer look!  That goes for people too, and this person fully enjoyed this reading!

The road goes on forever, the stories never end, and people are the same the world over!

I think Mark said it best, and yes, he indeed has a poem in there...I hope he comes back to see your comment, and be so inspired...

and to agree with Marge as well, some fine words from you...

but then, as always, some days are just a little finer than others...

Logan, this is superb writing.  Spring and Fall are my favourite times of year.  I love the last 2 lines in this - what a wonderful thought!

Take care,

Sweet Logan!   Your work is just as wonderful as always. I'm always out here reading, Sweet One. Remember that.   What a great question you ask in the end of this one. I like to think perhaps..angel wings.
