Have You Ever

Have you ever felt the biting cold,
the crowded emptiness?
Have you ever lived for days on end,
turned green from being envious?

Have you ever been lost
at what you have found,
passed time,
had your sorrows drowned?

Have you ever fallen in love?

Have you ever sweated it out,
fallen apart?
Have you ever suffered
from a broken heart?

Have you ever seen
through closed eyes,
wished upon a star,
held a handful of lies?

Have you ever fallen in love?

Have you ever seen a shooting star,
spend any time?
Have you ever let your mind wander,
witness a passionate crime?

Have you ever hurt someones feelings,
smelled a rose?
Heard the silence,
know what someone else knows?

Have you ever fallen in love?

Have you ever survived a storm,
burn with fire?
Have you ever captured the moment
or felt loves desire?

Have you ever tasted the rain,
listened to views?
Have you ever walked through the dew,
have nothing to lose?

Have you ever?

================================

that verse spoke volumes to me....
this is a clever write of turn of phrase and employ of poetic "cliches"....
all wrapped in well done rhymes...
enjoyed this poetic ponderance poet sir

yes, yes and yes. Great thoughts here. Though i'm not sure whether i like love or not. Leaves you so vulnerable, some of which you've shown here. i'm just catching up after being away for a week, glad i didn't miss this one.

Welcome back ... your comments have been surely missed.
Vulnerable, yes ... but look at the many things you could never have the pleasure of being a part of!  *s

Even the down side has its uniqueness!
