When I look deep
into this person
that I have become,
I find
strength

yet some days it seems
as though it wants to
play
hide and seek.

Try as I might to find it,
it runs ..
and I chase it
until finally I feel
as though I've grown
WEAK.

I
~ the cat~
running around
in circles
trying
to catch
it's own tAiL.

Just like the cat
who can never
catch it,
I face reality
again..
that I
might
fail.

I curl up
into a
tight ball
to
rest..
so that I might
awaken again
to face a new day.

And somewhere along the way...

REFRESHED....

I search deeper
shining a brighter light

so that once again
my strength
might conquer
this game
played
called
life.

Can't quite put my finger on why I like this, but I do...perhaps it's because it is about a cat, and there are no kitty-kickers present....

Hi there, Gentle Spirit - I like your poem, especially the part about you getting your tail chased - stepping on tails is almost as much fun as kicking... almost... heh.

As for the poem, it appears you are coming to terms with who you are and where you are going.  It takes a lot of soul searching to write about that subject.  You've done it well..

oops...me thinks that the kitty kickers are present today...but yes, it is searching and coming to terms with who we are, and facing it and being happy in it...shucks.......I'm rambling.....  thanks to both of you...

Oh I like this one!!  The references to the cat sealed it for me, but I can very much relate.  So well said, GS.
