I attended this Anti-Rape program today, and sat through the lecture hearing of so many heartbreaking stories, I burst into tears hearing of all the painful acts of crime! I felt so sad I just had to write my feelings out. My heart goes out to all these poor victims, and I wish them all love and hope...

Why, Oh Why?
By: Noah Eaton
11/13/01

Doves have fallen at your feet
Angels all seem to have lost their wings
You clutch your hand over your breaking heart
Perforated by a lethal plague
The days seem so long
You’re the victim of a bitter crime
You think you’ve had too much
Of this life…

I hear all your cries
I see you bury your head in your hands
When will we ever stop
Be raped?

Why can’t it stop?
Why can’t it stop?

Chivalry seems but a dead ghost
Is there anyone we can trust in anymore?
I turn away and tuck my head
And I cry…I cry
You stand in a world of insomnia
Haunted by flashbacks in black and white
You haven’t eaten in days, you’re walking nightmares
Of this life…

When will this all stop?
When will we seek saved?
Oh God, when will we ever stop
Be raped?

All the shame
All the pain
All the self-destruction
All the devastation
All the disbelief
All the misery
All the suicide
Why God, why?

Now you’re on your own
Hiding your disease
Molested by lechery
Who will save you?
Shame, shame, shame
Oh, the pain
You feel there’s no dignity at all
In your life

When will this all stop?
Tell me…when will we be saved?
Oh God, when will we ever stop
Being raped?

When will it stop?
Oh no
When will it stop?
Oh no
Why can’t it stop?
Why can’t it stop?
Oh, the shame, oh the pain
Why can’t we stop being raped?
Why…
Why…
Why God, why?

*sigh* this is a poem that I can fully understand. It will not stop until man becomes less animal and more human. The shame in it is how the women who suffer from this crime are made to feel it is their own doing. I know from reading the work of so many wonderful men here at Passions that there are many men we can still give our trust to. nough said. A powerful poem that will touch many. Well written, Noah.

Love I leave with you whether it is in your life now or yet the essense of your dreams.

It's difficult to see any end to this kind of madness. Perhaps when earth implodes or explodes and mankind is no more?
You have a very kind heart, Noah, and empathy to spare.
I cannot even count the numbers of women I know personally who have suffered this despicable crime.

Thank you so much for caring Noah...this is such a violent crime. If more people had such open hearts as your own...I don't understand it either...but know that I embrace you for being so gentle with your feelings. {Hugs}...Peace to you sweet poet.

Sincerely,
Regina
