I hear your footsteps
Echoing through my mind
Each one falling lightly
Upon the warm concrete

I stop dead in my tracks
Because I feel you near
As I look all around me
For a sign of your presence

Instead of seeing you
I see nothing but space
The air void of any essence
Gaping back at me in wonder

I feel my heart drop
In bitter disappointment
For I was sure you were near
Once again within my grasp

I must have been wrong
Because I stand alone
Searching endlessly in vain
Missing you yet again

All writing comes
by the grace of God.

Those love shadows always seem to stay just out of reach, but close enough to remind you of their presence. A well written poem, Lone Wolf. I heard your soft silent cry in the night in this one.

Lone Wolf,

I know this feeling.. of thinking someone you onced loved is near. of wanting so badly for them to be near.  Well done... I really like.

Wonderfully visual and heartfelt Lone Wolf ... you've captured a moment in time I've often felt myself. Just a glimmer, a remembrance ... yet nothing tangible when we turn. You've touched my heart with this lovely piece, thank you.

Best wishes,
/Kit

My heart goes out to you. There is nothing so lonely as yesterdays echoes. I pray new love fills your life soon silencing all the echoes of yesterday.

Love I leave with you whether it is in your life now or yet the essense of your dreams.

Oh my this just about sums up my last few months. I find it amazing that other poets seem to be in my same space so often. Even when it is not a current or personal situaton, which I hope for your sake this is not.
Anyway, before I babble on some more, let me say that this poem is wonderful and really touched me

Magnus: Thank you much.  My pen seems to have a mind of its own these days!

Enchantress: Thank you, Nancy!

Kathleen: Aw, thanks.  Yes, forever searching here.

Midnitesun: They are ever elusive to us, my friend.  Somehow I knew you'd hear my cry.

Rosepetals25: I think it's a feeling many can identify with.  Thanks.

walker: Sorry you relate to this one.  I hope it's better for you now.

aries: Thank you for stopping by!

Peaches: Aw, sorry to hear that.  Thank you.

Greeneyes: You are far from alone, my friend.  Peace and hugs back to you.

Kit: I am honored to have touched your heart with this one.  You are very welcome.  Just some thoughts I was having and thought I'd share.

Startime: Very lonely, but necessary in order to move on.  Thank you for your prayers.

Sandra: They are just some thoughts of mine.  Many of us seem to relate to each others situations and writing a lot lately I noticed.  Makes you feel less alone I guess.  Thanks very much.

MyEnchanted_Melody: Thank you.

The search is sometimes so lonely.  You have captured this feeling incredibly well Lone Wolf.  Well written, and hugs to you.

Jen,
your words as always touch chords
deep inside me...powerful write, full
of melancholy, but nonetheless just as
beautiful...

"I feel my heart drop
In bitter disappointment
For I was sure you were near
Once again within my grasp

I must have been wrong
Because I stand alone
Searching endlessly in vain
Missing you yet again"

beautiful writing, my friend...
Take care.

the rain forever.
Turn all of your pain to pleasure
Fill up your days with
sunlight, make the
passion last every night"
