Rusty
By: Noah Eaton
11/11/01

I didn’t hear you call
You left me cloistered in my cell
I bellowed out my trill
But I didn’t hear the church bells
I cried myself to sleep
Feeling I would never be able to play happily
I sit alone in the corner
Felt I was left stale to die in misery

I have so much to give
I have so much to share
But I feel rusty…

And I can’t think
I can’t feel
I can’t sleep
When you don’t love me
And I can’t breathe
I can’t laugh
I can’t glee
When you don’t love me

I try to talk with my friends
Like I’m waiting for an ambulance in an emergency
I don’t hear your signal
I feel you’ve lost all faith in me
I claim to convince myself
That you may come to talk it over with me
But you are not there when I need you
I feel all my heartstrings shattering

I have so much to give
I have so much to share
But I feel rusty…

And I can’t think
I can’t feel
I can’t sleep
When you don’t love me
And I can’t breathe
I can’t laugh
I can’t glee
When you don’t love me

I don’t feel like anyone’s blessing
Maybe I should never speak up again
The glass is half full to me
But it feels contaminated

And I can’t think
I can’t feel
I can’t sleep
When you don’t love me
And I can’t breathe
I can’t laugh
I can’t glee
When you don’t love me
I must be rusty to you…
Rusty…
Rusty…

Sometimes I feel like the world has stopped if my girlfriend doesn't call or I can't get in touch with her but that's when I have time to go to the beach or go hiking...hang out with other friends...or just get away time for myself...James

sad, but well expressed. have faith, Noah, you may not get what you WANT, but God has a way of seeing that we most assuredly get what we NEED - hang in there, man, it DOES get better
