I am not a hero....

Please don't make a big deal of it!
I did what I had to do.
            Someone had to save him,
It happened to be me, not you.
            I'm not a hero,
            I'm not a saint.
I was just there at the right time.
            To rescue a soul,
            From a deep dark hole,
            Next time he might be
            Saving me.

Sad Linda....
She's a SAD one, they say
     all scrambled upstairs,
     wandering lonely on the highways
     as if no one cares.

     While openly planning
     to safely put her away,
some locals just watch her wander
     both night and day.

     The ones who do stop
and help care for her pay
with messed up homes, stinky cars
and lost time from their day.

     But to turn away coldly,
to not help her at all,
is much worse for your soul
if you have one at all.

Thhis is my Remembrance Day gift to all those living and dead, who every day make a positive difference in another's life journey, without regards to medals, rewards, praise, or recognition.
You know who you are, and so does The Great Healer.

BRAVO!!!  Awesome work, midnitesun.  Those who go on about life quietly helping others, they are the real heroes.

Larry, you look so cute when you blush

Irish, thank you for being one of those everyday 'non-heros' who help make this a better world.

Lone Wolf, thank you, and thanks for being one of my 'non-heros' who always takes time out to share a kind word.

Someone once said, "There are no heroes...only people in the wrong place at the right time." I believe the world is filled with heroes...anyone who makes a difference in another's life qualifies, in my book. This is an excellent poem, sunny one

Thank you, sweet Balladeer. Did you know you are one of my favorite non-heros of all time?

Midnitesun; I don't believe there is such a thing as a non-hero.  Many people do what they can each day to help others and in my book, that makes them a hero.  I really like what you have written here.  Good job.  Wanda

(big hugggssssss) Sooooooo beautiful! (sigh) I would have to echo Wanda's comment. I believe we are all our own special heroes, and while God is our only supreme hero, we can all be heroes in expressing the love we share and believing in each others hearts! BRAVO!!! I love it! Such a beautiful and touching tribute, sweet Kathleen! (kiss on cheek) God Bless You, sweet friend! You have such a beautiful heart, sweet Kacy, thank you for sharing!

May love and light always shine upon you!

Love,
Noah Eaton

Wanda, exactly. It's oxymoronic. But the irony is, these everyday quiet heros are not thanked often enough.

Noah, thanks for reading. There are so many REAL heros out there. If there weren't I wouldn't still be on this earth. I've been rescued so many times in my life, in so many ways, that I'd never be able to thank everyone one at a time.

Peaches, there really are an awful lot of heros out there. I called them non-heros to underscore the point that they do their good deeds without fanfare, and often without any recogntion.  Thanks for reading.
