where insanity meets breeding

If life were like my fantasy
You would be right here with me
I’d know your skin and feel your touch
And you would feel it just as much
I’d know your lips and feel your kiss
I’d fall into its sweet abyss
With kisses soft and tender too
In my dreams I’m wrapped in you
You hold me through my sleeping night
You’re next to me, we’re tucked up tight
I wake with thoughts of you at dawn
And more come as the day goes on
As we talk through day and night
I’m trying hard with all my might
To keep a foot in light of day
But fantasies, they have a way
Of crowding out all other thoughts
Suspending time, a moment caught

Catch me…..share this dance with me
Kiss me….. share this fantasy
Hold my hand and lead me dear
Touch my skin and pull me near
Kiss me…. hold me next to you
Kiss me…. do you want me too?
Breathless, passion in the air
Can you feel it? Take me there
Hold me…. for I cannot breath
Hold me…. is this make-believe?
If this be dream, don’t let me know
If this be real, don’t let me go
I’m lost within my fantasy
You want to get lost here with me?

*grin* I know all about this kind of fantasy. I live there all the time. Keeps me sane.   I love the way you put this poem Tracey. I hope you get a man who can fulfill all your fantasies.

Love I leave with you whether it is in your life now or yet the essense of your dreams.

~Tracy~

this was beautiful!!!
I love your work so much, y'know that?
you write with such love and compassion
regardless if the poem has a melancholy
theme to it or not...just superb

Take care

Im smiling and shaking my head...
remembering how it felt to be this sweetly inspired...
this is a cadence kissed gem of anticpation
enjoy it dear poetess...
the fantasy makes for a wonderful muse...
reality usually takes the words away.
(forgive my moth cynicism)I think Im just plain tired.
well done Tracy..love the format of the second part.

Now Tracey, this is a delightful fantasy that merits testing in reality. Fantasy is great, it can help make you feel warm on cold lonely nights. But if you can get your hands on the real? Enough said.

Karen, I see you understand. Nothing wrong with a little fantasy now and then is there? A man to fulfill all my fantasies? Now there’s a tall order, would have to be a helluva fella!!!

Skyfyre, thank you, I’m so glad you liked this piece.

Amy,  thank you very much for the high praise. I’m flattered indeed to hear this from one who speaks so eloquently of love

LoneWolf, so glad you enjoyed this.

JM, yes, the inspiration here was sweet indeed and I am enjoying it a great deal. Thank you

Kacy, I must say I couldn’t agree more. Nuff said!!!

I, also, say to self
too good to be true
I'll wake any moment
from this dream of loving you.
If I do, if I wake...
if it was all a fantasy
in dream I'll still hold you tight
hold at bay reality.
For tonight I kiss you softly
within a nameless place
tonight we sleep together
in the dream of this embrace.

'You, you were standin', I was there, two worlds collided...'.  Night, Trace.  Sweet dreams.

Tracey, this is wonderful. I was living in the middle of this beautiful fantasy for so  long, but I have been rudely kicked out of it. Shesh.
I love this, its so lyrical and happy.
