There's Always Hope

by Michael and Tara

I will not shelter on my knees.
I’ll do whatever that I please.
My hope‘s secure, I will not whine..
You’ve yet to really see me shine.

With cruel words, you thought you’d break
this heart and then my feelings take,
but I have depths you’ll never know.
Now step aside and watch me glow.

You’ll see the person I can be
and in your heart you’ll clearly see
just what your closed mind made you lose,
no longer someone you can use.

My strength will rise from deep inside.
Nothing can quell my sense of pride.
My spirit strong, I will not fall.
I will still be here standing tall.

Now go you on your merry way.
You've had your fun, you've had your day.
You've lost this love forevermore.
I won't look back, but close this door.

With new found strength that is my own,
I move out into the unknown.
I pick myself up and move on,
pushing toward a brand new dawn.

What an awesome duet, one soul dancing with the other in graceful harmony.

'My strength will rise from deep inside.
Nothing can quell my sense of pride.
My spirit strong, I will not fall.
I will still be here standing tall.'

BRAVO!!!!!!

Nancy - I'm glad you enjoyed.. thanks for stopping in.

Wynter - I read your poem and I liked it   Thank you.

Balladeer - That coming from you is a HUGE compliment. It is greatly appreciated

James - I'm happy you liked it

Startime - Thank you for your kind words.   Hugs back to you.

Midnitesun - Well thank you   I'm happy you stopped in.

Tracey - Thank you

Thank you for all your replies. Michael was fun to work with.  I have to admit, I did get frustrated... rhythming was NEVER my strong point. Michael pushed and made me realize that I can do it. He's taught me alot about poetry and for that I thank you Michael

Everyone, thank you so much for your wonderful replies.  You're the best.     Hi Wynter.  It's good to see you too.    Tara gives me far too much credit for this.  She's such fun to write with and very talented.  Thank you, Tara.  *hugs* to you.

Michael and Tara..WOW!! Can I borrow this as my new theme song??
"With cruel words, you thought you’d break
this heart and then my feelings take,
but I have depths you’ll never know.
Now step aside and watch me glow."
I don't know who did that stanza but it deserves a song all of its own.
