Where no tyranny is tolerable

Jaime’s insomniac Reverie
While listening live on the Internet
To the sounds of surf and wind
And the plaintive cry of gulls
On a deserted windy beach.

I sit here in my cyber chair,
In stocking feet,
Nude except for fantasies …
Heating day-old coffee
In the micro-wave …
The nonsense runs in Jaime’s mind
At night …

Singulars and plurals.
One campus.
Two campi.
One caucus.
Two cauci.
One cactus.
Two cacti.
One rhino.
Two rhini.
One bronco.
Two bronci.
One frakus.
Two fraki.
One hypo.
Two hypi.
One hippie.
Two hippae.
One bogus.
Two bogi.
One bacillus.
Two bacilli.
One genius.
Two genei.
One proboscis.
Two proboaki.
One enormous.
Two enormi.
One inch.
Two itchy.
One humongous.
Two humongi.
One mosquito.
Two mosquiti.
One mysterious.
Two mystery?
One pant----
Why do they come in pairs?
One shoe.
Two shi.
One toe.
Two ti.
One claw.
Two cli.
One Chrismas.
Two Chrismae.
One hocus, one pocus.
Two hoci, two poci.
One alias.
Two aliae.
One syllabus.
Two syllabi.
One banana.

Two banani.
One alabi.
Two alabae.
One tamal.
Two tamales. (for anglothones)
One artechoke.
Two artechi.
Of corse,
As allan Sherman tells us,
A pair of goose is meece.
A pair of moose is geese.
The ocean sound is interrupted
By what sounds like passing traffic.
I wanted to hear Nature …
A poe-m composed in highschool.
Once upon a midnight dreary,
Lay an old man, tired and weary.
A raven flew above his head.
The raven thought the man was dead!
And so away the raven sped
Into the Night,
Never more …
The end of creativity.
There is bad news about creativity.
It’s all coming to an end.
This first came to me
In #1976.
But I chose not
To warn the world just then,
What with my being
In a mental ward, and all.
I never even told
The Crazy Doctor,
Since he was crazy, too.
But now the time has come
To reveal deranged dilution.
It works something like this:
All words in all languages
Are composed from a set
Of universal phonym elements.
While this leaves room
For the construction
Of trillions upon trillions
Of words in all languages,
Eventually they will get all used up.
Once we run out of phonyms,
No one can, in any language,
Say or write anything
Not already or written before.
All word and phonym combinations
Will belong to someone else,
Absent a release of copyright
From the author(s),
Who by that time may be dead.
When this happens,
Creativity will come to an end.
See how late into the night it must be!

Or, like this:
In the Western musical scale
Are a “fixed” set of notes,
Defined by the range of human hearing.
This means a fixed number
of combinations and measures can be composed
before all combinations are used up.
(the Orientals and Africans
are in a little better shape,
since they have qupater, eighth and sixteenth notes).
With all the notes used up,
Nothing new could be composed
Without permission of the author(s)
Who may still be dead…
This is why I posted now,
Before it was too late.
But I’ll let anybody use my words
Without permission.
Oh, I forgot about the graphics.
Since there are a fixed number
Of pixles and positions,
What will happen
When the-re all used up?
What time is it? …
The world,
So real and palpable today,
Was once only a fancy.
Likewise,
Your fantasy and heart’s desire,
Driven by a heart felt dream,
Will, In time,
Evolve around you,
In all of its imagined glory.
Desire will manifest in form.
And every thought will lead to action;
As surely as birth follow death,
Summer follows winter,
automn follows spring,
morning follows evening,
and peace follows strife.
For each part of me that dies,
Another lives.
The Universe breaths and oscilates
Even as matter is destroyed and re-created
In the firey cores of stars.
Let’s se …
What time is it?
Is it late, or early? …
I hung up on the ocean sound,
And now stand on the forested banks
Of the Stream Of Consciousness.
The nonsense flows through Jaime’s mind.
How cool
To talk to you
All night like this.
How drab it would have been
Alone.

The Universe is a sexy place,
Like a singles bar
Five minutes to closing.
Any intelligent life here?
Perhaps there is still time.
:-)

Don't ever let it be said that there's nothing on YOUR mind! Thoroughly enjoyed your insomnia, thanks for letting me get a good night's sleep! [Someone had to be watching out for the rest of us!]

Welcome back Jaime, it's been a while!

YES!  You did it Jaime!! Insomniac ramblings.....All those sleepless nights were not for naught.
The 'One..Two' sequence is hilarious. It probably won't replace the old counting sheep technique though. (LAUGHING here Jaime)
And the way your mind works?  Well, you already know what I think.
Congratulations, THUMBS UP.
And while the stars are still twinkling high in Jaime's Colorado skies, your Aurora is still dancing for you....even at -15F last night.

Time for class again...Now, Professor Jaime, did you say phonemes? or was it pheromones? I get them confused on Saturday mornings.

Geesh, your mind must be empty after getting all that out!!!! I hope you finally got some sleep after all that. Very interesting thoughts come to you when you can't sleep huh? I enjoyed reading them.

If she who dies with the most toys wins, then can I have some toy boys please?

Jaime,
Are you sure you didn't take a sleeping pill and just forget to go to sleep?   Sorry, just wondering!
