In the torrent of an ocean, as a wave I travel free
Among the swells and mishaps which accompany the sea
With others I am lonely, with my heart upon its crest
Pushed and shoved to neverland, without a shore to rest

I fly above the mountainsides with earth below my wings
But with me flies not happiness and all life’s joyous things
The nest of home is sticks and waste between the rocks of cold
Nothing but an emptiness inside I seem to hold

I am the bee in search of, the flower bud so sweet
But here I fly in desert bare, where nothing sweet I meet
Exhausted by the travel, by the search which brings no thrill
In pursuit of nectars taste and dreams that visit still

I sit here feeling different than I did when I was young
I crowed once as a rooster, but now that tune’s been sung
Content in ways, but not in love, yet proud of whom I am
Grateful for the knowing, that good friends give a dame

Convinced that this is normal, that many feel the same
Finding love in words and rhyme, as on we play the game
Exploring greener pastures, which still wither with the heat
Hopeful maybe happiness, my heart and I will meet

Very nicely penned, Rick.

"I am the bee in search of, the flower bud so sweet
But here I fly in desert bare, where nothing sweet I meet
Exhausted by the travel, by the search which brings no thrill
In pursuit of nectars taste and dreams that visit still"

Questing can be difficult and often exhausting. But to not search is sudden death. We just have to keep searching.

oh BRAVO!!!!Magnificent. I know this feeling and you have said it so perfectly. I saw you as a lonely eagle flying free but alone in search of the one who can fly like he does. Absolutely magnificent. This poem rates a kiss, my friend.

Love I leave with you whether it is in your life now or yet the essense of your dreams.

Wandering thoughts indeed. Thoughts that are shared by many I believe. I certainly could identify with a great deal of what you have said here. Very well written and with wonderful flow. I enjoyed this a great deal

Every word...wonderfully woven into deep heartfelt feelings..I appreciate one who frees themself...let nothing chain you. Love doesn't ever chain..it breathes. I hope your search brings you closer to your dreams and closer to the complete release of your soul.

Sincerely,
Regina
