Now I say
remove the net
though I tremble on the rope
I'm going to try
a pirhouette...
If I must cry, I'll cry in hope.

It's been lovely.
It's been grand.
I love applause
from the grandstand--
I pray my feet will find the ground
as surely as the tightrope wound...

Pack my bag with pipe and harp
let me end, to make a start.
Surely, there will be a place
for a poet's heart in grave.

Pick no flowers.
Burn no trees.
Let laughter
be the death of me.

And though I say that I must go?
Look for me in the sideshow.
I'll be the lady with the grin--
whose heart beats outside--looking IN.

Because I know you'll be writing, I know this is the right step for you. But the net (and Passions) will be here when your break is over....

I love you all, and it's NOT goodbye (a bit of personal insight here, I don't say goodbye, I just slam the door on the way out!)

Just need to take care of business...

(Elvis has ENTERED the building....)

I'll be around...everytime I need a hug, I'll be back! (Like now, fer instance?)
