Do you understand my flicks of flame
sparks of pleasure and disdain
illumination brief in trees
lighting up the leaves
however brief?

The flint, it strikes against the stone
sparks leave me not quite alone
amidst the crisp dried forest leaves
I gently blow, forgetting how to breathe...
upon my knees in need.

And so I gather me a home
a bed of moss and circled stone...
wood at ready for the feed
of fire in a shadow's bleed--
I find myself a crook of tree
and pray the dawn will soon free me
from me...

  BRAVO!

The cadence is perfect, and the imagery delightful. You shake a few trees and look what falls down in our laps, these tasty treasures! Take a bow...

You do, and we're all going to miss this sweet talent of yours!
But if you must . . .
But you CAN'T stop doing this, k !!!

Now this is poetry, and I can't wait to read your novel.  You'll do it and I am so proud of you for being tenacious enough to give it your best!  Good Luck Karen (but don't think you are going to need much), you'll do it!
