About Nothing

With nothing left to say to one another,
we fill pages with nonsense,
light and meaningless words
wrapped in tight little clusters,
as though avoiding a blank page
will forestall the closing sentence
from falling forever onto paper,
that final communiqué
ever-present in the lack
of what is said;

unasked honest questions
don’t require answers,
better to talk about the weather
instead.

Corinne-

this reminded me of a dear friend of
mine, and our relationship! sometimes
just saying ANYTHING is better than
that inevitable "goodbye"...very
amazing write...this was very thought
provoking.
take care

This carries more truth in it than most will
ever realize...you have wisely written this
so well.

Sadly sometimes the dance lingers well past the music, well beyond reason as though emotional inertia would carry us beyond the pain.....they shoot horses don't they?
