I saw her across a busy street
Standing, quiet, elegant, in control.
Long flowing hair, an occasional wisp.
Dressed sensually, showing the right sights.

Shifting from one gorgeous foot to the other
A petite handbag accentuating a fullness.
Eyes unseen from the distance.
Seems as though might be a smile.

I have to get there...  I must cross.
The street so busy, waiting for the light.
Impatience starting to overwhelm me.
My heart starting to beat even faster.
The sudden awkward feeling in my gut.
Come on....hurry....change now...

A bus pulls between our sight, I cannot see.
Will she still be there, will I meet Miss Right?
Finally....running fast, weaving through bodies
Arriving breathless as the bus pulls away...
She is not there...Awwwww Man.....

Where is she, where has this goddess gone?
Searching frantically, like a rat in a maze.
In one shop, nothing.
Out and in another...still nothing...
Breathless, dejected, giving up...

Do you have the time?  A voice behind me asks...
Assailed by a fragrance from a thousand roses.
Sensuality flowing through me as I turn to answer.
Can this be my distant love?  Will I get lucky?

Eyes of deepest night, shimmering of starlight.
Cheeks destined to be kissed, to be touched.
A neck to hold during passions embrace.
Shoulders to nuzzle and caress.
Where has this love been, what have I missed?

“Four-fifteen”, stammering like a boy on his first date.
The eyes still shining, I detect an inquisitive look.
Please eyes....don’t laugh at me....If you only knew..
Knew how nervous and excited I am right now.
Knew what my heart is saying within my chest.

I can only imagine she has encountered this before.
A woman of such beauty would have a bastion to protect her.
A legion of soldiers would stand guard over her bed as she slept.
Wars of love have started and been won and lost for this sight.
Men have sold their inner souls just to share a moment.
And I, this mere mortal man, think I can convince her...
Convince her that I want to know her, who she is...
That I and not falling in lust, but in love...That I am sincere.

Surely she could never believe this line...
I would not if I were her...
“Nice cologne”...the strumming of an Angel’s harp says to me..
“Thank you....your perfume is truly enjoyable too...”
A bus comes before us....the opening door hisses.  My heart racing.
The angel climbs three steps....my eyes feasting curves...
Looking back.....  “Nice meeting you...hope to see you again.”
Love grows on a busy street....
A fluttering heart waits for tomorrow...

I know this could be a typo, but it still works for me, as does the whole of the poem...looking for more...

Ok, I already know that she will be back for you, so there is nothing to worry about.
Very intriguing though, and well written.
