      Baking in the Oven

The wind strokes the pussy willow
And the cat stalks a mouse.
The cow grazes chews its cud
And the moon lights the house.

The dog lays by the open fire.
The flame throws thongs of heat.
I sit upon my self made throne
And dwell upon my feet.

My Queen is still in twilight land
Asleep upon her nest.
I count my blessings one by one
And dream upon the rest.

How much of this is really true?
How much is in a sigh?
How fragile is my ivy tower?
How labile is my eye?

Enjoy each rosebud of the hour
For each bud will make a flower.

I really like the way this is phrased, esp 'how fragile is my ivy tower'...

Well, the uncertainty is there, but all you can do is live each day to the fullest, and enjoy each 'rosebud of the hour'??
