bloody red (after black and white day)

bloody red



below the pink
of welcomed lips
flows bloody red
the heat of passion

and through the offered hand
long chilled by one
who failed the test
of her compassion

comes a gasp
with fresh new air
and a flash of light
in unexpected fashion

to this she smiles
a gentleness
that floods away
her pale and ashen
