Land of Never-ending Summers

I spoke to him again
over an internet chat
coz we are miles apart.

I can't seem to understand why
I still feel disappointed
over love lost
or love that never was.

We were normal friends
with lots to talk about.
In my mind there was hope
that one day this friend
could see something more in me.

He reassured me always
what comes in the future
one will never know.
We might be more than friends
he said a zillion times.

I know now that it was all false.
How could it not be
when he has fallen in love
with someone else.

Yet now I am so confused
were our signals crossed?
Was it his intention to imply
that he was interested?

I do not even know
if I have the right to be sad.
Was it my fault
I did not give enough hints
or was it just me hoping
for too much and he
was no more than a friend.

After reading some responses, I thought I need to add that, he is indeed a friend I know in real life, not someone I met online ^.^ We have to chat on internet coz I'm overseas right now... =P And, yeah, I am trying to be there for him ^.^, but the heart still aches...

A question many of us have asked ourselves ...
do not put blame on anyone, it takes two in love for everything
if he has found a love he desires, be a friend and share his glee ...
though that emptiness inside your heart shall always be
with words of yours as I have seen, you gave him opportunity to knock
but for some, a good friend is hard to hock
being their for him to see simply this
may be enough to search out your kiss

Be strong, be careful, but most of all, as a friend, be there.     Best wishes, always!!

*sigh*...its so easy to get swept away with the "boy in the box"....(or girl, as the case may be..)  and the fact is, love is real, no matter how it comes about..but we have to remember that these people have their own realities too.."we all need human touch" so when someone tangible comes along, its likely to pull them away...   those of us on the other side of the box, have to let go...

enjoy the love for the time it belongs to you..    then let reality takes its course..or it will eat you alive....!

nice write

(big hugggssssssss) Oh Mon, my heart goes out to you. I too know these feelings ever so well of loving someone and before we get to share it, we lose the opportunity. (sad sigh) My heart goes out to you, but I know deep down that you will find such a beautiful love that will make your heart sing and you will be the best of friends for all eternity! (sigh) We all love you, sweet friend! (kiss on cheek and big hugggsssss) You have such a beautiful heart, sweet Mon, thank you for sharing!

May love and light always shine upon you!

Love,
Noah Eaton

Yes, that is almost the eternal question.
Well presented

Fool, said my Muse to me, look in thy heart and write.

Yes! To have someone who really loves me soon, and I'll get over him. That's my wish. Anyhow, I'd juz pray that I don't get into such sticky situations again. To fall for a friend is not the wisest choice, coz our friendship might be jeopardised.

Thanks for the comforting words, I'll be fine real soon. Right now, I'm juz too busy to even think about him.
