The bar’s near empty
Maggie May is playing on the jukebox

no surprise
it’s brought someone to mind

I wonder what song
will someday
remind me of you

Well, maybe the old tune "Devil or Angel, I can't Make Up My Mind"  Do you know that one?

I like this. I have written on some bar napkins in my time, may have them still kicking around somewhere. Hhmmm, wonder what song it will be...

My head was empty as my kitchen
Except for the melody stuck inside

All I could do was listen
But the words didn’t want to hide

So I wrote to the silent note
On a paper towel that was handy
But not to someone
There wasn’t any

Enjoyed the poetry of yours

I have always kept selected songs close to my heart.  Sometimes while driving or running, a song will come on the radio and catch me off guard. It's always a good feeling though isn't it?

nice write Duncan.

ah, yes, Maggie May,
Yes, I loved that song and everyone should have a song that reminds them of someone they love. I'm listening to one right now....

Duncan--You got my memory going with this one...for in my yourth there was always a "our song" in a romance...and the song lasted long after the romance was gone.

Duncan, the song for you to remember me, presupposing you'd even want to, is:

"I am a man of constant sorrow"
by the Foggy Bottom Boys

Good one, Duncan, sent us all down memory lane here. I have a few special songs that remind me of each person I have loved, and sometimes they make me smile, sometimes cry, depending on how strong I feel that day. And I have scribbled on bar napkins a few times, too.

They're playing
our song tonight
don't know the words,
but it sure feels right
everytime I hear this melody
I want to hold you close to me
listen, they're playing
our song...

Nice write, Duncan...

*grin* well I know the one that suits me right now and even though I don't like country music much this one fills me with life. "Man! I Feel Like A Woman!" by Shania Twain. **hugs**

Love I leave with you whether it is in your life now or yet the essense of your dreams.
