She hated sleep
Where her realities
Slipped upon her
Nightmares were a breeze
Compared to her past

With the glass in hand
She knew of torture
The “Damned if you do
Damned if you don’t”
With each and every swallow

Knowing how the bourbon
Would send her into a pillow fight
But without it
The pain swelled up
As a missing limb
She could still feel..aching

She loaded her weapon
Spinning it
Caressing it
As a pet
Sliding it under
The empty side
of the rarely occupied space

She slipped into reverie
Relaxing in lull
Of her music box
Given by her father

How people would find
Her a mutated species
Of female
In her fondness
Of a little girl keepsake
Right next to her cuffs
And her favorite blade

She closed her lids
Dancing as the ballerina
On ice of silver ponds
Only she took the heads off
The sleep thieves
With each slippered pirouette

The phone rings
Slamming her into current time
She answered hatefully
To the voice of rotten syrup

“Caught you in your nighty
My violent Goddess?”

“You’d better have a reason
For your sleaziness at this hour”

She slid in whiskied sleep of tongue

“You have to return
To the Caribbean. Seems we just
Discovered a new middle man.
We loose him If we rush the bust
How would you love the Headline:
Femme Fatale Brings Drug Lords
To Their Knees: my sweet?”

“Have my ticket ready...
If you put me in coach
I’ll carve your throat”

Slamming the phone down
And showering awake
Cursing Warren
Cursing her fog
The stranger in her mirror

(smiles) OH MY GOSH, THIS IS SO EXCITING!!! It's part soap-opera, part James-Bondesque! (smiles) I love it! You always portray such various emotions so descriptively and beautifully in your poems; I LOVE IT!!! (smiles) You have such a beautiful heart, sweet Regina, thank you for sharing!

May love and light always shine upon you!

Love,
Noah Eaton

I am loving this story, it's so cool. Glad you posted another episode, cause I've been wondering how it's going to turn out. Now I will wait patiently for episode four. (well, I'll try to be patient....like a kid at Christmas!!! lol. )

“Have my ticket ready...
If you put me in coach
I’ll carve your throat”

For some reason, those lines really give me the essence of her. (and boy, would I like to say those lines to my boss, who always puts me in coach!!    )

If she who dies with the most toys wins, then can I have some toy boys please?

Defining, and expanding with each line. You give us deeper revelation into your character. You give "prose" a good name!
