I feel so far
so far
removed
from reality
of shovelfuls
of tossed earth
on shiny brass boxes
and the irony
of the finalty
of insertion
into a tunnel
of eternity
"from whence we came,
we go again"
watching
in disbelief
as they fall
like dominoes
and leaving flowers
left to die
in honor of the dead
and the mid-morning
echoed memories
of the voices
once so soothing
and the touch
I cannot feel
and I weep
and walk
the floors alone--
nobody's baby
anymore...

Things are never as they seem or as they appear to be are they?
Made me sad to read this, but you wrote
of that empty feeling so well.
Life can be a deserted beach sometimes.

Death and loss are a tragic thing...I have
experienced it many times...and I will never
get used to it...the loss of a lover can be
equally as tragic.

This reminds me of a poem I wrote many years ago called Motherless Child... only this is far better!!! *S* I had no comprehension of the concept "succinct"... still don't. *S*

However... I do understand. This aches with loss, serenity... and is beautifully written.
