hey you

Hey you, sleepy head.
Yes, you.
Time to get out of bed.

Wake up.
Rise and shine.
It's almost, but not quite,
work time.

Stand and stretch,
turn off the alarm.
Put on something
warm.

Then to shower,
then to dress.
Grab something to eat,
and clean up that mess.

Then the car,
and drive to work.
Turn on the radio
and smile.
Leave yourself behind.

Time for the show.

We all know
what the grind does.
This other you doesn't think
your boss is a jerk.
This other you
doesn't laugh at Dilbert.

This other you
doesn't want to kick
Dogbert's

What?
Naaa.
This stuff is easy.
You got it licked.
Life is great.

So smile to someone
for me.

The music's a little long this time.
Long enough to get to work, anyway.

It can't be time to get up, already.  Stop trying to make me smile...it's too early.  Actually, this was pretty cool to wake up to.

OK, so you got me smile, just a little. Hah, I'm out of work again, and interviews are never smiley faced moments for me. And some people really do split themselves into two it seems, to make it through a work day.

(smiles back at you)
I'm definitely not a morning person, I'm more of a night owl hehe
Very cute poem.
