The Garden I See In My Heart

I tread carefully down rows
carefully designed by me
as I prepare my heart
for HE who guides my life

I begin my gardening by first
visiting that place left barren
where no light nor rain falls
to feed what’s growing there

My heart still weeps as I view
the thistles and the thorns growing wild
where they will know I must leave them
in the wildness of lost hope

Even now I see the few wild roses
struggling to bloom as they are choked
by weeds refusing to give them
a place to thrive

The ground is dried and cracked
with a grayness covering all
that would grow here
in this place where nothing lives

Shedding tears of regret I turn my back
upon this place of poison and decay
with all the memories that it gives

As I move forward I smile
at the memories
brought in the planting
of each flower in glorious bloom

The Wild Flowers come first
with myriad of colors bursting
into fields made green
by the love of the Chief Gardener

Scattered in wild array
they bloomed to life
in all the colors of the rainbow

Still some were choked
by weeds and thistles
still scattered among a garden
left to grow on its own

Bright yellow Buttercups
began to flourish
drawing the sunlight of truth
into the heart of this garden

As strength and knowledge were gained
carefully tended rows appeared
with each new flower nurtured
to bring forth its very best

Green grass flourished
in a soft carpet of lushness
as each row was divided
by rows of green showing
ground ready to receive the planting

Blue Bells sang as music touched
the heart bringing gifts
of gentle love through notes
both loud and clear

Tulips held the sweet nectar
of love from friends held
and captured and given
to all who entered in

Red Roses fill the air
with passion for life
with strength and surety
within soft petals
opened wide to catch the sun

Orchids of all design spill forth
with each new truth revealed
to show where love has touched
this garden that is may flourish

There is still much rich earth
prepared anew for planting
of life’s beauty found
amid the world

One spot in center of this garden
is tended with great care
that when this flower come in bloom
it will show that most rare

The Blue Rose is planted here
and waits for love to nourish
that it too may blossom to fill
this garden with rare love eternal

This is a beautiful poem indeed. What a lovely garden you have. I think you have tended it well with a life of love and caring. You have a big heart you sweet lady. This shows where it came from. Lovely

If she who dies with the most toys wins, then can I have some toy boys please?

Such is the garden of life, weeds and all!! The plan is to take care of what needs to be done and leaving alone what must grow on it's own.  But I think we all plant our favorites and take extra care of what truly matters to us....for it is our garden and therefore we reap what we sow.

This was a bouquet of words in all it's fragrant and poetic splendor.

and in your garden grows the most delicate
flowers...watered carefully for all time.
Your words inspire others to write.  your
growth is evident.  Nicely done Star.
