I’m so alone, that’s all I have
I wish I had something to give
You’re a girl not to think about
The kind that would make me live

I prefer nights with cat and beer
Watching whatever I please
So who cares if you’re beautiful
And all in the world that I need

Do you go out on dates at all
I heard a tale of girls like you
Too pretty to be asked your name
Now I wonder if all that's true

***

I saw in the store where they sell the wine
You were holding a T.V. guide
I wish I had said what I thought right then
But I'd found a place to hide

Your dog, in your car, the window down
I stopped and it licked my face
You walked out in your jeans and hips
You smiled and the key fit its place

I think there’s a time when something says
How about just letting free of your fears
I said the words that I thought were wrong
Who cares if your beautiful, you bring me tears

A taste of wine and a sip of beer
Cats and dogs will fight and play
But life is better than it’s ever been
And now the words I just can’t help but say

BRAVO!!! Oh Walter, you always express your feelings in such a wonderful and inventive way! (sigh) We probably always wonder these things every now and then, and sometimes it's just worth thinking it over by the TV alone! (sigh) BRAVO WALTER!!! (big hugggsssss) You have such a beautiful heart, sweet friend, thank you for sharing!

May love and light always shine upon you!

Love,

Look out, there's a fence full of cats in your backyard...and they're all looking at your beer.   Another walt special, guaranteed to make me smile even when I'm trying to have a bad day.

I know you like cats....but with beer??? Oh well...I like the way you distanced yourself with the dog and the shyness....very well done Walt...a pleasure trip as always.

Sincerely,
Regina

Walt,

This is too cute. Don't be intimidated by the pretty girls. Hoping I understood this poem correctly.

Walt - I really liked this one. Well done. Chris

Cats and dogs... beer and wine... men and women.  Sometimes you just have to chance the mix. Whatever the outcome, it's a hell-of-a show.  Enjoyed the read.  Peace!

Cat and Wine

I used to have a feline,
Never sure if it was mine
Or I was his in his mind
,
Saturday nights I’d drink a bit of wine
And into my lap he’d climb.

He’d sing his soft purring song
Relaxed by both sleep would soft come on,
I’d wake and both would be gone.

Not sure if I understand the main point in this poem but it made me think about my preference...I don't care for women that are too pretty because they tend to get all the attention and I want the attention...yet I find that as I get to know a woman they become more and more beautiful to me...the beauty unfolds from their heart...James

Walty

(Well if Maree can call you that then i can)

This is one of the very best pieces i've seen from you, especially the first section - very strong indeed.

Simply written and compelling in a way that i guess will resonate with many people who wonder at times whether they are who they are.

Thank you

F
