Lounging at the pub last night, just stopped in for a brew
when a cute little redhead walked by, a pint in her hand, or two
before I knew it, the place near deserted, the barkeep yelled, ‘Last call’
‘Follow me’, said my new friend, ‘the nights not done at all’

We jumped inside her little red car, into the night she sped
the alcohol, the chatter, chasing tales inside my head
Still weak with recent cold and flu, all my defenses down
I’m shamed to admit, I fell for it, as she turned the conversation around

‘Tell me all about yourself, your hopes, your loves, your dreams
what music do you listen to, do you watch much TV’
Explaining that the hours I work, left little time for evening viewing
I confessed to a few crushes, on TV’s women of the morning

Perhaps, I mentioned a few names, like Meredith, Katie and Kelley
thinking she’d find this charming of me, instead she muttered…unstudly
then laughing wickedly she drove away, her taillights but a blur
promising to blow away, the image I’ve striven for

A comforting thought then, crossed my mind with a certain evil glee
I’d play her game, rise to the challenge, growing bold, knowing she didn’t see
beat her to the punch, I would, ‘fess up here and now
I’m just a sensitive, southern guy, with a thing for the morning gals

So I trust you now, my fellow poets, to consider all the facts
is it not possible to be a stud, with enlightened viewing habits
should I instead have answered, “I watch ‘restlin all night long’
kicked back in my recliner, listenin’ to country songs’

The funniest of days is this, for when my new friend wakes
she’ll realize the depth of folly when girls in heels dares take
and next time she’s out back the pub, with the bad boys having a smoke
I hope she remembers the sensitive one, who beat her at her own joke

Smartass!!!! I will be back my friend, you wait. I'ma gonna blow that sweet studly image ya'll got there, but good!!! (by the way, good one pal. I too, like this style on you, but I'm saying that very quietly so ya can't hear. might give ya a swelled head or something!!!)

You know that I shall have revenge
For I can't let you win my friend
It may be "Tracey 0, Duncan 1'
But this game has just begun
By time you finish work tonight
I'll have that score set back to rights

If she who dies with the most toys wins, then can I have some toy boys please?
