Cloudburst

Behold grim advance of yon broiling clouds;
Brace well for impact from great coiling clouds.

As rumbling in progress blots out the sky,
Fears gather fast in face of boiling clouds.

Beware formidable angst gripping cold,
Dread and foreboding come with moiling clouds.

Fall not prey to restless darkness that crowds,
Shun terrors aroused by dim roiling clouds.

Know life prevails despite dark horrors nigh;
Warm light shines and heals beyond foiling clouds.

To love, trust and understanding keep hold;
Strong hearts full of faith withstand soiling clouds.

If all falls beneath tenebrous enshrouds,
Seize hope, Zahaar, till pass the toiling clouds.

It was not my lips you kissed, but my soul."

a ton of thought went into this one. the inspiration began on september 11 when i saw the roiling dust cloud overtaking the new yorkers as they ran for cover. i saw then the great storm, figuratively, on the horrizon that soon would follow and now is almost upon us. then i saw god's words to my heart on the matter. i felt he wanted me to write this poem to present a way of looking at what now befalls us. i felt it was more important that i express his will in perseverance than it was i expressed his presence. so many are turned off by knowledge of his presence, but the same are often open to and comforted by his will and way. some day it would be nice to find the words to make it so clear that the two are bound. but, for the time being, i believe this will suffice. i have another one brewing in my brain that explores this further from a different angle, but i have yet to discover the magic refrain with the rhyming prepositions to it.
