Memories
AMK
Nov 2, 2001

Memories of you wash over me
They play inside my head for what seems an internity
The teardrops fall as I realize things have changed
My heart cries out in melancholy and pain

We spoke today, but something didn't feel quite right
We were quiet, long pauses but there was no argument or fight
They say lovers can't be friends, that it's just too hard to do
Somehow though still inside my heart, I can't believe that's true

I put my heart on the line, I told you how I feel
I guess I should have known better, at this rate we will never heal
You didn't say you didn't feel the same, you didn't say much
To think at one time, we could barely live with out each others touch

Well no need to worry, I won't ask you again
I know now that we are strictly only friends
You're right I have someone who I care about so true
I guess I just got misty for a moment, and got lost in the memories of you

"I could kiss you in
the rain forever.
Turn all of your pain to pleasure
Fill up your days with
sunlight, make the
passion last every night"

*sigh* memories will do that to us sometimes. I have always heard that friends make the best lovers. My heart was touched by the tenderness in this beautiful poem.

Love I leave with you whether it is in your life now or yet the essense of your dreams.

That line just sums it up perfectly Amy...it is beautiful indeed. I have been following your words of love in the last few weeks, and I hope that it can get back on the right track. You have a beautiful heart, and I hope all will work out as you wish. hugs to you sweet friend

Tender and heartfelt, Amy.  Wonderful expression here.  Hang in there, it'll get better.  Those memories seem to sneak up on us when we least expect it.  Hoe all is well with you, my friend.

Oh.... somehow i feel that this is a rather sad poem. Sometimes I feel that having no memories, is better than having them, coz then we'll not dwell over them over and over again.

Amy,

I had to respond to this.  It is a beautiful poem and yes, I do know how you feel.  Sometimes, I feel that way about you.

Take Care,
Laura
