Dragons fly through full moon’s brightest sky.
Winged vile creatures with an evil eye.
Looking for a  maiden breast below
Waiting to strike a swift curdling blow.

Karbar, finest slayer of the lands
against creatures  unwavering stands.
Guarding virgin maidens who desire
safety, comfort, a hearth’s raging fire.

Watchful patience  in the dark of day
Keeping an eye on a dragon’s prey.
Sharpening a sword of  finest steel
ground  razor sharp on a slow oiled wheel.

Telling  land to bolt and lock their door
as a dragon flying high does soar.
Laughing at the demons that crave to eat
only the best virgin’s tender meat.

Waving the steel in a warrior’s taunt
of hideous wings that fly and haunt.
Keeping  vigil of honor and pride
while cursing those things that fly and hide.

Keep the faith and guard the maidens well
Send the winged things straight to chosen hell.
Fight the fight of the earth’s  soul filled  quest
for a  slayer may seldom find rest.

You are immersed in the slayer days, I see. I would rather see unicorns in the sky than dragons, but if someone would be as dedicated as these you write of, then dragons would be ok. Brings out the chivalry, yes?

I guess that I have always loved to write about Chivalry and honor...and knights and
lore,  such fun.  Now Unicorns....Hmmmmm,
I think I could figure out that one too.
Thanx Sandra.

How about..
Lords and Ladies,
Unicorns and Fairies?
But, I guess dragons will do as well.
(sunny and 70 degrees up here!)
bump.

I like this one, Magnus.  Then again, I've always been a sucker for dragons.  They are just way too cool!!

Nancy,  I have never been big on Unicorns
and fairies....can't say why....maybe I
need to read up a little bit before I put
my poetic horn someplace it should not be.

70 degrees....hummmm,  not to shabby.

Thanx for the words of praise...

LW.  If I were smart enough,  I would have
a dragon background behind the poem....makes
it look really neat that way...Oh well,
guess I will just be Mr. plain about it.
Thanx for your remarks...happy you liked
the words..
