The Shores of Alone

0 posted 2001-11-02 11:30 AM

I see him in the stars at night
I see him in dawns early light
Not here, not gone, a part of me
withdrawal hiding what could be.

I see him in that special way
a touch of soul, of heart at bay
His reticence still steals my joy
behavior not of man, but boy.

I see him touch me, can't forget
the love I felt when we first met
All over now, out of my life
this knowledge still cuts like a knife.

I see him in my yesterday
and wish somehow he could have stayed
My tears are of irrelevance
because his love has all been spent.

To see tomorrow as a hope
the only way that I can cope
Perhaps to know love once again
not just as somewhere I have been.

I think your last stanza sums it all up nicely, Sandra.  It's called moving on.  Be well, my friend. (((hugs)))

Hi Sandra,

This is an awesome statement,

Nice lines, all of them!

It's hard to watch and let go at
the same time.  There is much
sadness and strength in your words.

Nicely done Sandra~

I see lost loves as a learning experience and no matter how hard they are to get over, we take from them what we did learn to the next, and the next, until one day, presto, a soul mate!  This was wonderful Sandra, and extremely lovely use of words throughout.

I love these lines they seem like a sunrise or a new start to me.
