I'm The Reason

I'm the reason why you're hurt
I'm the reason your heart is shattered
I took my love from you
The only love that truly mattered

I'm the reason you can't sleep
Not one full nights rest
I'm the reason why
Your heart no longer beats inside your chest

I'm the reason your thoughts are a blur
And only of me you think
I swear that breaking your heart
Made mine shrink

I'm the reason why you wont love again
For months, even years to come
I'm the reason why you play music
The very sound of your heart beat like a drum

I'm the reason you broke down
It is me who made you cry
I tried to explain my reasons
But right now you wont understand why

I'm the reason you're alone
Since I fled from your side
You surfed my ocean
Then in came the tide

I'm the reason why
Pain is residing on your face
Someone, somewhere craves your love
So please don't let any of it go to waste

Maybe I'm selfishly thinking of myself only
Therefore resulting in your left lonely
It seems I am the reason for all this
but the real reason will be discovered
Some day when we are over eachother

I'm the reason why
You went from sun to shade
but sadly, you are the reason why
My love began to fade....

this reminded me of Paul Simon's new song entitled "You're the One" from the album of the same name.... (a classic to be, by the genius lyricist/poet/singer/songwriter)

you can read the lyrics here, if you're not familiar with them (i hope the link works)

anyway, rose, i've always enjoyed your work going way back to the scroll days and i'm so very glad you have joined us here at passions... it's nice to "see" your lovely face, btw..... the struggle of a breakup is never easy..... (((hugs))))

Oh, don't blame yourself for all of this, unload some of it, you're not responsible for everything!  Keep writing.

We can take a risk and try to develop a relationship of love but we cannot guarantee that it will work out as expected..as we spend time spent together we will find if a relationship will grow or fall apart...James

WOW!!! Doreen, I thought of the exact same thing; I love that song as I love Paul Simon. I love that line "But human expectations is that love remains the same. And when it doesn't, we point our fingers and blame...blame...blame!" (big hugggssssss) Oh Joanna, this is so so sad and I know just how you feel, but it isn't your fault, don't blame yourself, for it's just the love didn't work out, but it's not because of you personally, for you are a very loving person with a big heart! (sigh) I pray with all my heart you love again very very soon! (kiss on cheek) You have such a beautiful heart, sweet Joanna, thank you for sharing!

May love and light always shine upon you!

Love,
Noah Eaton

Powerful write, J.  Excellent flow of words, I think, though I'm not sure I agree completely with your flow of thought.  You apparently aren't selfish, nor thinking only of yourself, if you care enough to write about him and push him back into life.  Nice read

Hey, don't take all of the blame. It takes two you know.

very good writing, petalled one. I don't read it as you taking the blame...rather explaining why you had to do what you did....and that the consequences were basically results of his inadequacies in holding your love....of course, I'm wrong often

You express your reason well.  Surely you
are not to blame...We must look inside
sometimes to find the answer...

A really touching write...We want to be so devoted to the good of the other person. Funny how we sometimes think things will change and when they don't we feel a bit guilty for having to take the first step in breaking apart. You have a really special heart for trying.

Sincerely,
Regina
