On Pause

Sometimes life seems to be
fast forwarded into tomorrow
before the purple dusk has had a chance
to display it’s splendor
by dimming the radiance of yellow
into the peace of deep indigo

Sometimes I would like to replay
frame by frame what has passed
so swiftly before my eyes,
slowing down the expectations
bathing in the tender moments
rethinking decisions
opening the biased mind
saying what I meant to say
embracing with more passion
listening with more patience
and then
after studying each picture, continue on
at a slower pace

But life doesn’t hesitate
to make sure I have
savored the day

and so today, I am on pause
in an introspective mode
with time fleeting by
but only I am in slow motion
watching with deliberanc how slowly the sun
crosses the November sky
and I will be awaiting
the purple hour of dusk

and tomorrow will be another day

Oh!  How in the world did you know   I just viewed a beautiful purple morning horizon.
Then poured my coffee and read this!  It visualized before me all over again in front of the screen. Thank you!

A wonderfully introspective piece Liz ... pausing to ponder so many things. You've reminded me that I need a day like this myself ... so I shall tuck this away to remind me. Much enjoyed!

Best wishes and hugs,
/Kit

To say I loved this would be an understatement.  I think we all should pause for awhile and savor each moment as it passes.  Most excellent, Liz!

My TV has a pause button for the times I'm watching a video. It would be nice to have that in real life...there are a lot of moments I would like to savor for a bit longer..
