Ten days of conversation
levity and flirting
waking to morning mail
is my favorite
through the day
I think of you
at the most random of times
there is no sense or sensibility
to this
so that now
as I try to put something
into words
for you
I find
too much in my heart
for my tired mind
today
I ask if you
will simply
read my silence

VERY VERY COOL write Duncan...
"read my silence" .. how sexy is that..
I like your stlye poet sir...direct and to the point...
and Duncan? ... If "this" made "sense" ...
it wouldnt be half as inspiring and intriguing. *L*

This distance has shown how the road remains alone
Now I'm looking in my life ... for a truth that is my own.

There are times when words simply aren't necessary, and the silence between two people speaks for itself.    Nice!

Wonderfully said in a good format, Duncan.  I hope she reads.

Silence can often say more than words. Trust me in this Duncan, she does understand.

I started to shut this off and go on to bed, but I'm glad I read it. For some odd reason, I found comfort in it. Thank you for posting this.

When volumes of thought ring from your mind
She’ll understand silence, I think you will find
For much can be said without any words
I think if you ask her, she’ll tell you she heard
Yes
She reads the words between your silence

Duncan,
I have this suspicion she heard you, loud and clear. Great write.

Oh, how lovely, thankyou for this. Chris

DUNCAN..silence has its moments too    those words that cloak themselves in silence are often the most important ones..and if she hears them......ah, you have something....

enjoyed...

As always, you can say the most poignant things in the simplest ways...find the woman who can read silence and you rule the world.

I like this a lot, but one word of advice, sometimes..women don't understand the silence and take it for disinterest..
Speaking from experience of course.
Great write.
