Messages of pain
buried in my skin
(again and again and again)
Pavlonian
biology...
to my garden, I must tend.

Once burned we learn
instinctive retraction--
recoiling from the slightest warmth--
much less the hint of heat of passion.

I wish to be where you are now,
at distance from myself.
Writing up the commentary,
returning book to shelf.
Violating protocol--
worried I might offend.
I'm not surprised that I'm surprised--
just the way it's always been.

So I offer, in humility,
all that I can manage.
But understand
when you take my hand,
I suffer still from damage.

Forgive me if I tred on toes,
I haven't danced for years, ya know...

I will lead this dance
you shall follow gracefully
no real damage done

Fool, said my Muse to me, look in thy heart and write.

It comes back...in time...with patience and the freedom to make the first move. I hope for you all things peaceful and sweet. Serenity is. Hugs!

Sincerely,
Regina

*sigh* I have been burned several times. I don't know if I will ever learn. I have this problem with my heart, you see. It just wants to give love.   Wonderful writing.

Love I leave with you whether it is in your life now or yet the essense of your dreams.
