Fall Back

Fall Back today, Fall Back they say
We'll have one extra hour
To wile away, howe'er we may
For each the option ours

If you could choose, with naught to lose
An hour to live again
Follow your muse, and have no rues
Return to where and when

A time you'd find you could rewind
And have another chance
To redesign ways left behind
The course of happenstance

What would you do, for life anew
To quell incumbrous strife?
To take your cue from yester's view
And change that hour of life?

Turn back the clock -  past times are locked
Fall Back one hour tonight
Arise to walk in wisdom's talk
Best tend to morrow's rite

Then borrow some from time to come
Of future's heedful hours
Affect the sum of life undone
For destiny is ours

If from the past we've learned at last
Time wisely spent instead
As hours pass, life's play's recast
Fall Back then Spring Ahead

Waft every crest upon your destined sea
Embrace the Wave of Serendipity
Lest its elusive arcane ecstasy
Refurl with sail for all eternity

I'm sure I could come up with an item or two I could change for the better of myself with the extra hour we gain, but I'm going to be lazy and enjoy the extra hour of sleep. *LOL*

Catchy verse, Nan...enjoyed!

Music, tonal clear & pure,
Caresses the harshest of curves.

Loved this Nan,  I could take part of my poem
about What If and put the two together and
come up with an outstanding answer for what
to do with the hour of time.....but....I
think at my age,  I will just enjoy the nap.

Aww what bliss it tis to regain the hour sleep I missed last spring.  Too bad we can't turn back the clock on time sometimes.

Ah, but if I had an extra hour
another conversation I would start,
with the dearest friend I ever had,
and she'd gain an hour in her depart.

Nan, thank you for this one, and the reminder too.  I think I shall write in that extra hour, what the heck!

To sleep, perchance to dream an extra hour??
Since I cannot change the past, my hour is best spent doing something to guarantee a brighter future for my child, and all the other children of the world.

What ARE you talking about? Here in Arizona, we don't do any of that stuff....(could it be we don't know how?) Nope. We're rebels that's all!!

Loved the poem!!

Much to ponder oh wise one...there are so
many hours I'd give my right arm to go back
to...some to change and some to just live
all over again. A great write with the
perfect dash of "hmmmmmmmmmm"
