(This poem has an "unfinished" feel to me but I am stumped with any further additions at the moment)

Just Ask

If you want to know how long
my love for you will last,
ask the giant redwood
how many seasons it has seen.
To know what could ever
make me stop loving  you,
ask the struggling salmon
as it swims against the stream.

If you want to know how far
my love for you will go,
ask the migrating artic tern
as it circles 'round the globe.
To know how my heart feels
when I look into your eyes,
ask the dark night sky
awash with fireworks in July.

Thanks everyone!

Can anyone tell me what the file folders are for beside the posts, and why the one for this post is opening and closing on my screen?

Poetry is an expression of feelings.  I do not write poems, but rather, the poems use me to write themselves.

Well, I'm not sure about all the details, but the flapping folder means it's your first post. And since I'm  "bumping" this up to the top, one of the moderators will see it and probably answer your other Q's.

Oh this is great!!
I love it, don't worry it
seems finished to me,
but it is all up to you!
Can't wait to read more.

Hi Janmew,

First of all let me say how very wonderful your first post is. A very big welcome to Passions. I'm sure you will enjoy it here.

Now to answer your questions about the folders, the red folders mean that there have been new replies since you were last at Passions. The folders that open and close mean that it is a new poet's first offering to us to get a chance to enjoy their work. A white or gray folder means that the original author has come back into the thread and replied. A yellow folder means that there are no new replies to a post since you last logged into Passions or refreshed your page.

Hope you enjoy your stay with us as much as we will enjoy having you.

Thanks everyone, and thanks Dawn for explaining the folders to me.  I feel much better about the ending now.
