The years pass by uncounted
but the minutes I know by name
each second since I’ve loved you
no measurement is the same

The time it took to make a star
means naught to me you see
for in that star I find the love
that I wish you had for me

We’ve subdued the jungle beasts
but my heart will not be tamed
I’ll not hold back a nanosecond
and thus said, I feel ashamed

This love took not a moment
to find a home within my heart
I do not know when it will end
nor am I sure when it did start

The clock held within my heart
doesn’t count time in normal space
it’s measured in the times I’m held
within your loving embrace

*sigh* written from your heart with a class and style all your own. This poem reveals the depth of a love that knows not the boundaries of time and space. It is a love filled with destiny. Absolutely Magnificent. Into my collection this treasure goes.

Love I leave with you whether it is in your life now or yet the essense of your dreams.

The sensitive romantic indeed measures time by the beat of the heart. When it races we wish it would slow, when it's pace crawls we wish it would increase. Enjoyed

What a beautiful, timeless love. Written very well indeed

Thank you all!! This is actually a repost (sorry I didn't put that in the title). I've been blocked so badly for so long that everything I write now seems terrible! Sigh.

Time is of the essence...(a contractual term )
Time passes...(anyone could have said it first)
I don't believe in time...(Hootie)
Time, why you punish me?...(Hootie)

who had smiles, hugs and love in abundance, and gave freely.

Simply wonderful! I know exactly how you feel... both the feelings expressed in the poem, and the fact that you have had writer's block.    I Love this piece!

Jan

Poetry is an expression of feelings.  I do not write poems, but rather, the poems use me to write themselves.
