My friend, if only words could paint
how much you mean to me
there's no one else who can compare
to your sweet grace and beauty

Tony, since you came into my life
I haven't been the same
you showed me how to laugh once more
you smiled away my pain

You filled my tears with rainbows,
you're the sun which lights my way,
you warm my skin with understanding
and bring peace to my every day

When I needed someone to listen
you were always there,
my faithful friend 'til the end
you're a miracle, my breath of fresh air

You're an angel born of heaven
like none I've ever known,
and, as long as you're in this world
I'll never walk alone

My friend, through life's uncertainty
I know this much is true
that I am truly blessed
to find a kindred spirit in you

By your side, I can be myself ~
safe to reveal each layer of soul,
my zig to my zag ~ two peas in a pod,
'Greek God'   ~ you make me whole!

No matter what may happen
I'll be right here for you
lean on me, and hold my hand
together, we'll get through

One thing I know I can count on,
one treasure that shall always be...
that you and I will be friends forever
joined by the soul for eternity

By Melissa P. Monette

Tony, how many brownie points do I get now?

I didn't write it, but it's just who I feel about my best friend. Well written, thank you!

Melissa,

The very first poem I read this morning and what a way to start my day here at Passions. This is absolutely wonderful and your music choice, well that along with the poem was enough to get the tears flowing. Yes that is exactly what it is like with myself and my best friends too.

Love this! It's exactly my own feelings. You've written it so beautifully!

Poetry is an expression of feelings.  I do not write poems, but rather, the poems use me to write themselves.

Words cannot express how moving this poem was. I feel all warm and tingly reading it and I only hope that I can do you justice by writting something as beautiful for you as you have for me...
