She filled her arms for a time
and then again... but, just once more,
for the need and want of skin-not in
the name of love and
not to be judged
right or wrong...
it was just too much life to live
all by herself.

She has said yes before,
when she wasn't up
to the aftermath of no, and
said no, when she couldn't live
with yes anymore.

If only to be loved, appreciated,
held close, and understood...
just being touched
will never be enough.
Of course three out of four
is not a bad sacrifice,
she could stand not being
understood...

(sigh) Such a sad but honest decision indeed! (sigh) My heart is with her and I pray she may find just this understanding of love alone to warm her heart! (sigh) Wonderful poem, dearest friend! You have such a beautiful heart, sweet friend, thank you for sharing!

May love and light always shine upon you!

Love,
Noah Eaton

I like this, jellybeans. Such an honest poem.

Wow, this is definately deep, and you capture the dilema well.  Wonderful penning JB.

This poem felt like a sigh from your heart when I read it. I do not know exactly how to say it but that it felt like a sigh to me. Very well written.

Love I leave with you whether it is in your life now or yet the essense of your dreams.

These lines struck out to me...
great poem, very deep and honest.

Jellybeans; This is a deep and sad poem.  I wonder how many settle for three out of four or even less so as not to be alone in life.  This poem is very touching.  Wanda

You're complaining about 3 out of 4... when I'm batting ZERO????? Humph... greedy thing is what you are. LOL

Seriously, lady... I love this. These lines

"it was just too much life to live
all by herself"

hold so much sadness, so much seeking... so much settling for what will do when what's wanted is out of reach. Beautifully written!

jb, jb, you are being "me" again....oh tender hugs my sister! When will I ever learn? The unreachable is unteachable and the unteachable should remain untouchable...damn idealism anyway! sigh...

Noah and Midnightsun thank you so much, I too am glad my muse is honest, thank you for your comments

Gentle Spirit and Startime, thank you so much, I guess that is why they say not to overuse words such as sigh and love and heart…when a poem conveys the author's sigh without using the words, then it makes me feel like I did it right
Dark Angel and Wanda I didn't realize how many would be touched by this...sigh...almost didn't post it

suthern *stern look* the number is not the focus of the poem....lol......ah...but then the focus of the poem is sad, so lets smile instead...thank you lady

serenity, "the unteachable should remain untouchable" wow lady, you have an incredible way with words, thank you and big hugs back

Aimster, am almost sorry for anyone who identifies with this, so sending hugs, thank you

Marge...from you that is an incredible compliment, thank you lady...it always amazes me that when my muse just spits them out and refuses to edit them, they are the most striking, and when *I* work and rework, they are never as good...guess I need to listen to my muse more..........

JulieAnn, thank you
