I walk across a harvest field,
my eyes are gray, my spirit low.
Remembering wars that never yield
the ones still fought from long ago.

I tip toe under china blue
in bordered peace and make a choice.
In quiet panoramic view,
I’ll make the voyage through my voice.

Soon, high and low and all around,
the kites and butterflies will fly
and all the mourning doves surround-
they know, yet know, not why.

Wow, now that's the largest butterfly I've ever seen...peaceful thoughts, thanks for sharing.

Liking this a lot. The doves can signify so much. May they do their job this time.
Excellent writing, as always.
