Soft light shining onto a wooden swing, a lovers rest.
Sparks of fire flying upward into a chimney’s heart.
Solitary weeping candles wavering against a hidden air’s caress.
Visions of two shadows dancing on walls of love.

I miss this scene so deeply  tucked away in my soul.
Wracked mind of a tortured man,  siting alone on the swing.
I still sense your presence there, I hear the laughter shared.
Please do come again, for my journey of love has ceased.

The lights shimmering brighter than distant stars in a night sky
as soulful sparks of  flame climb high in search of you.
Tears falling, soaking into worn boards beneath tired feet.
A lover’s trek in search of life  has not found a treasured love.

I write words of passionless nights, of an empty bed,  now cold.
I eat spoons of bland sadness,  they only fill my heart.
Your vision wavering before me, fades as each day passes.
I strain to see your smile,  no longer see your shimmering eyes.

Your eyes once shone brightest love, and then became dark,  gone.
I wake to the emptiness of our wedding bed, my tears fall again.
My cries, unheard by others, continue in me, unrelenting.
I silently scream pain and woe, I will not, I can not stop.

I walk  through a clearing shared, no birds flying over.
The fields of green now brown, a playground now dead.
My feet carry my heavy heart, my arms grasp open air.
I sit again in this swing, Oh... I do wish you were there.

My head raises, to the sound of a creaking board.
A distant Loon calls to a mate,  as I breath a sigh.
I see the brightest eyes, the shimmer of  true love.
Tears of relief, of great joy fall freely as love returns.
Two shadows become one on a swing,   destiny  unknown.

This poem is absolutely wonderful.  Your poetry just keeps getting better all the time.  I am so excited for you.  This is so sad, but I really like the way you ended the poem with a note of hope.  Good job!! Wanda

(sigh) Your loving aching heart cries all throughout this lonely poem only then to feel the joy of sweet love returning! (big hugggssssss) BRAVO!!! I LOVE IT!!! It's like the swing represents innocence of the heart and the laughter lovers share together with unconditional love! (sigh) BRAVO!!! I LOVE IT, SWEET FRIEND!!! (big hugggssssss) You have such a beautiful heart, sweet Magnus, thank you for sharing!

May love and light always shine upon you!

*sigh* oh yes, the sadness of this poem brought tears to my eyes and yet the hope shines brightly pushing away the clouds of loneliness. A powerful poem that touches deeply the emotions of the heart.

Love I leave with you whether it is in your life now or yet the essense of your dreams.

I love this one, I think that as long as we are aware of how love changes we can renew it.

Sandra,  hope this was a good read for you.
I tried to put both sides of emotions in it.
With a victory for both loves, in the end...
I hope they are good memories....

Whether the real or the hoped for ending, this was very nice. And since I adore the loons, that part made me smile. May your swinging duet dream be fulfilled.

Yes, I like that ending too. But I always like endings that hint of promise and happiness. Great write
