days come by
and nights tread on
and the clock ticks
a quick moment at a time
when the present tense becomes
a thing of the past
and the past turns into history -
lost,

it is all about speed
it is all about moving on,
a cliché of being in motion,
yet often we grip a moment
and keep a snapshot
of our feelings of that
briefest of all times
close to our heart
deep inside our chest -
safe,

can't lock it up forever, though
and with the slightest daylight,
the shadows return
as if re-affirming
the very existence of darkness -
cave,

while the crosswords
of the day's newspapers
align themselves into some
attention-grabbing happenings
as a comet drops right on the head
and a realization strikes
ordering the being to stop dreaming
so that the chance of getting
nightmares is negated into
case of optical illusions,
spell

and then today has gone
has become yesterday
almost spontaneously
and an unwitting thought arrives,
visit

one year

-?-
what's this? wherefrom? don't know... don't ask me,
seems like my muse jumped on me, and I'm stumped

"I was born intelligent - education ruined me"

Your snapshots were always interesting, and this is another of them...so good to have you back...you were gone far, far too long!

Sudhir, this is wonderfully written.  I am becoming a great fan of the way you write!  Enjoyed, Nancy.

So much of the time, we spend going in circles wondering if we're really going anywhere... the years blurring together except for certain identifiable events... I think you've just written life, Sudhir. *G*

yet often we grip a moment
and keep a snapshot
of our feelings of that
briefest of all times
close to our heart
deep inside our chest -
safe,

I particularly love these lines... Even if those moments are fleeting, even if we lose them... it's those moments that keep us going on. *S* I like this very much!
