Wedding Night

I would not wish you harm in any sense
nor sorrow to invade your splendid night
For I will bear the heavy pain and plight
for both our hearts, And I will in pretense
put on a veil of joy and innocence.
And mindful not to tremble in your sight,
my hands will shun the glow of candlelight
The tears of sorrow shed in my defense
will mimic tears of laughter that abound
on this the night of nights, when you shall wed,
and bridal guests all celebrate around
a wedding feast. Then after all are fed
I beg your eyes not meet with mine, and drown
in bliissful wish and love’s tormenting dread

(tears fall down my cheeks) Oh Elizabeth, this is so sad but also beautiful and compassionate! (big hugggssssss) I know how you wish them a happy wedding, but I can understand how you feel too! (sad sigh) My heart is with you, and I pray between you both you can find some comfort and joy! (sigh) This is very touching, sweet friend! You have such a beautiful heart, sweet Elizabeth, thank you for sharing!

May love and light always shine upon you!

Love,
Noah Eaton

Dear Lady,
Thank you for your kind words

Noah,
Please know that this is not about me. It's just a poem, though I'm sure it is not a rare situation, and very sad one.
No I am not at all sad.
Thanks for caring, though. You are very sensitive and considerate
Thanks for your comments
Liz

Wonderful Liz, and I wonder how many people have stood in this very situation, and saw the one they loved wed someone else?  Many I would bet, and you write of the feeling so well.

Just when I thought I had forgotten that moment...thanks, I think. On the money and really well done.
