You’re gone from this earth
But you’re not gone from me
For I look at the Heavens
And know what I see

There are clouds upon high
There are birds on the wing
And I see way beyond this
And know one single thing

That as each day passes
And tomorrow draws near
I’ll see you again, Dad
And I’ll have no more fear

Time spent on earth
Seems so short to us all
But Eternity’s time piece
Is no clock on the wall
Dinny

(Written when Grampa Leighton Died/Read at Mom’s Funeral)

This was actually written by my Mom. I keep it and all her others sometimes to share but mostly just to remember.

Continue to always keep your grandpa alive in your memories! Beautifully written by your mom, thank you for sharing. It reminds me of my grandmother.

Thank you for sharing words that you will
keep in your heart for all time.  I too
did the same recently at a funeral for my
Brother In Law....Difficult, but so very
rewarding...  As I am sure your experience
was as well.
