Rewrite:

So be it

She saddles me like a willing horse
And digs her spurs into my sides
She screams commands till she is hoarse
I groan each time she mounts and rides.

There was a time when love was new
I felt we were the same, of course.
But as time passed, I finally knew
That she was rider- I the horse.

Today we go along our way
Until death or at least divorce
The Grande Dame proudly on display
Aboard her tired beaten horse.

She cannot change her way I know
She's etched the pattern of her die
I knew this quite a while ago
Yet still I love this meadows lie.

Our love has many forms and states
            And
   Unluckly this was my fate.

Bravo!

Though my back be bent and swayed
still I have not gone astray
to be her ride my fate is cast
she walks me now, on through our past

me thinks she needs a ride on RANDY
if that dont "alter her states" I dont know what will. *L*

me

Let her hear Randy Roar

This distance has shown how the road remains alone
Now I'm looking in my life ... for a truth that is my own.

*sigh* the sadness in this poem is what reaches out to me. There is also acceptance of it being this way. I can only say that my heart goes out to you.

Love I leave with you whether it is in your life now or yet the essense of your dreams.

Every now and again, I need to read something like this... it makes being alone seem less a curse. *S* Great writing, Seymour... as usual. *S*

I still envision for you a slow merry go round...if even for a moment....a stampede of spirited thunder.

Sincerely,
Regina

This is the "blues" in contemporary form, for sure. Thanks for sharing.
