Oh, cool, I thought, a window washer,
and, wow, it does it automatically...
I finally found something that will
clean up all of that old stuff that I forget
to throw away, but I surely don't
want anyone else to see.

I liked the defaults already checked, yes
clean my temporary holding corner...
(I have been trying to get to that for years)
And for sure my recycle bin...
(I want off of that merry-go-round)
Now, let's see, my history? ...oh my gosh
what a wonder I have found, will it even
wash clean my past?
I checked them all, and to make sure
they didn't return, even added bleach.
Set it to run at shutdown,
and pressed ok with childish glee.

I got ready to leave...and said to myself,
ok, window washer, let's see what you got.
I sat (open mouthed) seeing things
I hadn't planned to see.
Too many bits and pieces long ago hidden
instead of thrown.
I sat and watched my life roll by
as it washed file by file, memory by memory.
When it got to my history
I wanted to close my eyes (and my mouth)
some things are not to be remembered
(even when bleached)...
And then sure enough just as it promised
when it was finished,
it shut down. (and so did I...well I would say
it was more like fainted on the floor)

I think next time
I will set it to run on startup instead;
that way each day
starts out shiny and clean.
I can erase my fruitless anticipations,
(I just hope I remembered to configure that option),
wash away my worthless worries,
(I probably should have gotten the deluxe edition),
and maybe make space
for at least a few of my unmet needs.
(a hug and a smile now and then sure would be nice)

Sometimes I learn the hard way, but I found that
when  the view is over your shoulder,
dirty windows are best tolerated, not cleaned.
Next time I get the urge I will forge a clear pathway
ahead and let my memories (and me)
rest in peace.

a window washer is a program that washes Windows 98 clean of temp files, temp internet files, etc...I just installed it in mine, its cool, and its free. *smile*

Very clever, jellybeans!

Nothing like a misplaced byte to ruin one's day!

I need to paste the above truth on my mirror, my computer, my very heart. *S*

I love the way you think! *S* I just hate the way you hurt (and fainting on the floor is just gonna add more bruises *G*) This is excellent, lady... I love it! *S*

Cracked me up, jellybeans.  If only it were so easy to clean up our lives.
