I come on my knees, dear Lady
Mother of the Americas
Mother of God
asking that you would shower
us all with the roses of your love
and bring us back to your arms

we have wandered far from you my Lady
we have gone far from you,
thinking that we could go on
without you
but finding that without your light
to guide us on our way
that the way only became dark and lonely
and that, on our own, we could not find
for we could not see

so, we called to you again
Divine Mother
and you came to us
just as you came to Juan Diego
on that first day
and you told us not to fear,
for you were our Mother,
our care and our comfort,
and that we would want for nothing

that through your light and your power,
the serpent would be crushed,
the darkness would end,
and we would be saved

and so Blessed Virgin
Our Lady of Guadalupe
you who are a reflection of us
we come to you again dear Lady
Mother most Holy
you who offers us roses
as a sign of your love for us
in all times and in all climes
we come to you again
on bended knee
in all voices and in all languages
knowing that you will hear
and that you will answer
and that we will know your blessing

-------------------------------------------------------------------------------

no podría ver Así pues,

llamamos a usted otra vez a
madre divina
y usted vino a nosotros
apenas mientras que usted vino a Juan Diego
en ese primer día
y usted nos dijo no temer,
porque usted era nuestra madre,
nuestro cuidado y nuestra comodidad,
y eso que desearíamos para nada

que con su luz y su potencia,
la serpiente sería machacada,
la oscuridad terminaría,
y nos salvarían

y tan bendecir Virgen
nuestro señora Guadalupe
usted quien ser uno reflexión nosotros
nosotros venir usted otra vez querido señora
Madre más santo
usted quien ofrecer nosotros rosa
como uno muestra su amar para nosotros
en todo tiempo y en todo climes
nosotros venir usted otra vez
en doblar rodilla
en todo voz y en todo lenguaje
saber que usted oír
y que usted contestar
y que nosotros saber su bendición

NOTE: Our Lady of Guadalupe, although technically not a Goddess, is indeed worshipped and prayed to by millions of Latin people all over the world.  She is the Patron Saint of the Americas, and is regarded as an aspect of Mary for the New Millennium.  She holds all the aspects of the Goddess: love, compassion, and unity for all.  She is known by many names, and her story is well known by those same millions of Latin people all over the world.

She is the one that we turn to, she is our strength, our guide, our intercessor.  Loved and adored by all.

For more about her, please go here: Our Lady of Guadalupe and here: A Guide for the New Millennium

My goodness Sven ... this is remarkable! You truly capture the many qualities of her, and in such a wonderfully prayerful and respectful tone. Though I cannot speak the other language, the mere addition of the translation itself is amazing. Well done!

Best wishes,
/Kit

I know of her and have admired her, from my own reasearch on the web.  This is so beautiful Sven, love the bilingual tilt to it, it only adds to it.  How I wish I could speak another language!!!!!!
Thanks for this one..

My friends. . . thank you so much for your wonderful and kind words. . . Our Lady has always been a part of my life from when I was a young boy. . . I remember my Mother and my Grandmother telling me the story of how Juan Diego first met and spoke with her. . . and she used him to speak her message to those that would listen. . . she speaks, even now, to a world that desparately needs her. . .

Thank you all again. . . you are what makes this place worthwhile, and I'm honored to count you all as my friends. . . peace. . .

Sven, my daughter is studying Spanish and World Cultures this year (9th grade). Since she is homeschooled, we often find interesting things for her to research on the net. I'll be printing this one, for her to study and add to her knowledge base. Thanks, big hugs, and it is a great poem.

Excellent work here, Sven.  I enjoyed this one much.  It is a testament to the faith you have been taught throughout the years.  I would have replied in Spanish, but you know this would have been much shorter!
