Day Too Soon Drops my Blanket

Don’t wake me
I am dreaming.

I hear a whisper into my tousle,
the sound of morning stirs
bejeweled in mist
against the window.

It holds me accountable
for giving time
to glorious midnight.

Hold me still dream,
I am like a beginning
softly turning to light,
a melt of pale on pale.

Kiss me
I am drifting down river beguile
with your lips
on my closed eyes.

Softly close the shutters,
day too soon drops my blanket.

and so I just know
that love never dies
and that souls hold all the candles
and they are the kind
you can’t blow out

*sigh*
just like the dream...I didnt want this to end either......
this reads like a whisper at midnight...
beautiful Martie!!

This distance has shown how the road remains alone
Now I'm looking in my life ... for a truth that is my own.

Beautifully written!!
Everyone has fought off the morning light to remain in a dream that soon may be forgotten, you captured the moment  and translated it perfectly.
Well done!!

To be suspended in a dream....oh don't I wish sometimes!  Wonderful write Martie.

I don't think a dream of yours could be forgotten, as it would be tomorrow's poetry.  This was so lovely Martie, thank you.
