The path to loving you is strewn
with fevered stars and harvest fires
that journey through my evening muse.
I gaze at the only photograph
of you I kept.
Your eyes…eclipse my trembling
persona
A souvenir?
Of  temptation?

Yes, I suppose you were,
for I found you-
or did you find me?
aqua blue
eyes and charcoal brown
met one another.
Dimensions unfolded
ah, yes, the
emotional butterflies
spun around the inside of my belly.
For once you came in search of
those primitive waters
and awakened tiny buds
and so…..

I think of you...
Passion fell unrestrained,
uninhibited.

Awaken me once again?

No, you are only a photograph.

Oh, how I loved you!

My erotic scent takes flight
to reach you, find you, embrace you
and drift from a whisper
of “I love you.”

But no, my love, you are now-
only a photograph
but I cried in climax
and I become now, a blurred memory.
I released the inner child and I
remember the warmth,
and for that I thank you!

Though, I deny the almond milk of my lust,
frame you in a shimmering pool,
I remain a withered seed
trapped in moist earth.
And now?

I am brought to my knees
to wait
for an unobtainable moon
Oh!    Lamenting, cruel light….
search me,
assemble me,
move me
from the forbidden distance
of your image.

Oh my, this so well says it all, doesn't it? How many of us are feeling like this? I suspect lots.
Amazing poem.

WOW!  Sending you an email regarding this poem, it is magnificant.

OH! You don't have an email listed?  I wanted to ask if I may print this out as is, and frame this one?  Also, I would like to read it to my seniors next Tuesday at our reading group if I may?  Again, this was absolutely fantastic, I loved it!

(big hugggsssssss) Oh, this is such a sad but such a beautiful poem too! (sad sigh) Your sorrow reflects the beauty of sweet love in a photograph your hand holds close to your heart! (sigh) I pray that you find the strength to move on then find true sweet love like that of that memory. (sigh) So sad but beautiful, sweet friend! You have such a beautiful heart, sweet lady, thank you for sharing!

May love and light always shine upon you!

Love,
Noah Eaton
