You cannot ride these waves,
With their steep fearsome sides
And their white crowned heads.
In their steady barrage they roar the message,
“There’s no surfing, swimming, floating.
There’s just engulfing, drowning, sinking
Down to the extreme depths of this sea”.

As willpower fades and fatigue begins,
The fight once fought well, is lost.
I am overcome, pulled down,
Consumed, overrun, and tamed
By circumstance in which I am immersed.
My mind is awash with just one sensation,
Which is that sinking feeling.

As the gas of life is replaced, by that which drowns,
I have no facility to breath in life;
Even though, locked within this liquid
Is the constituent for existence.
I see around me creatures that do survive,
In what to me, is an alien environment.
I do see that there is life around me,
It is there! But for me not yet attained.

(big hugggsssssss) Oh Jonathan, I know this sinking feeling so very well, where my hopes dim and my willpower feels down, and I struggle to breathe! (sigh) My heart is with you always, dear friend, and I know that soon you will feel these joys in life and be embraced by great light! (big hugggssssss) A sad but wonderful poem, dearest friend! You have such a beautiful heart, dearest Jonathan, thank you for sharing!

May love and light always shine upon you!

Love,

Sometimes what is happening in our lives can give us this kind of sinking feeling. Being overwhelmed by it all. I hope things get better for you. You have put perfectly into words what many of us have felt from time to time. Take care.

Love I leave with you whether it is in your life now or yet the essense of your dreams.

My mind is awash with just one sensation,
Which is that sinking feeling.

hmmmmmm when I get this way..I go to my bed, close my eyes and dream away the sinking feeling.

Hi Mistletoe Angel, Startime, Tracey, & Nakedthoughts,

Thank you for all your kind comments, the poem was written some time ago, but I added a few changes last week.

So I'm more or less floating these days.

Jon
