She awoke with a yank of dream chain
From a bubbled knock on her door
Dragging in haggard fashion
She answered an empty hall

Upon closer inspection, a package
Mr. Fetherall sent good morning
Of sweetness rolled in cinnamon
And a note of Smiley faced delight

Water was poured in dual spigots
One for coffee, one for her bath
She moved as if spell cast
Past the pile of papers last wrote

She had to breath..to reflect
Placing the holly on the counter
Giving Yanni an intermission
She believed herself a mad woman

Undressing for her water spirit
She climbed into the claw footed tub
Laying as Ophelia, deafened delicately
Studying the ceiling textured faces

Stepping out into a Downy towel
She felt she’d melted into the drain
Stopping abruptly at her image
Drawing close, touching nose to mirror

Aghast and blaming light tricks
She traced of lock of white hair
From temple to shoulder it iced
through the strands, she winced

Her faded jeans and Aran sweater
She pulled baby blue, very well
Sensing something unfamiliar
She spun about in search down the hall

There upon the dining room table
Lilies of whitest paper cut bouquet
Tufts of Baby’s Breath enhancing
A card that read..“Thank You.. For the Dance”

(big hugggsssssss) OH MY GOSH, I just love how you describe things so  beautifully in your wonderful poems! (smiles) I daydreamed of her walking into the house and at first noticing that bouquet of flowers and reading the card and she smiles and clutches it to her heart! (big hugggsssssss) Oooohhhhh...I love these, sweet Regina! (kiss on cheek) More, more!!! You have such a beautiful heart, sweet friend, thank you for sharing!

May love and light always shine upon you!

Love,
Noah Eaton

Ah Regina, another in this dreamy, enchanting series. Simply heavenly

If she who dies with the most toys wins, then can I have some toy boys please?

Once again, I'm touched by the imagery, and its persuasive invitation to pause and ponder the total worth of "Bronte"
